CREATIVE DEVELOPMENT
1. Painting and Drawing (l978 to present). Current work is based on jazz and related Latin American music. Since 1978 my work has been abstract, emphasizing color and movement. To realize my translucent, layered images I had to develop new methods for using oil paint on paper.
2. Studying Jazz (1990 to present): Jazz structure and rhythms, periodic lessons on keyboard. Research of jazz roots, including African history, art and music, and their effects on Western art and music.
3. Development of a studio art program for children (1992 to 1999). Developed Eyeball It!®, an at-home program for elementary school-age children. Consists of a series of discreet art projects based upon natural patterns for the growth of visual/spatial intelligence.
