The Jazz Series: Paintings On Paper
Jazz has been the subject of my paintings since 1990, each series of works based on a single jazz composition.
My paintings are constructed from superimposed layers of paper -- the back layer opaque watercolor paper, the front layers translucent vellum -- each with drawing, color and more recently, collage.
One sees a painting through a painting.
