“Jazz: Chick’s ‘Chelsea Shuffle’ #1-6” is a series of five paintings (#3 was never completed) based on an urban, edgy composition by jazz master Chick Corea. It is included on his 2001 trio recording titled, “Past, Present & Futures.”

These paintings are irregular in shape, with some forms extending an inch off the 30” x 30” square base layer, making the overall size 32” x 32.” To capture this, we photographed them against a gray background. The media are oil and flashe on collaged paper. This work was completed in 2005-6.
